New England Fly Tyers

300 Sutton Ave, Oxford

About Us

Since 1972, we’ve been dedicated to fostering the art of fly tying, promoting the challenge of flyfishing, and encouraging sportsmanship and conservation throughout New England. Though our club meetings are held in Central Massachusetts, our membership is region wide. Whether we’re fishing for stripers off of Cape Cod, brook trout on the Deerfield River, landlocked salmon in Maine, or small-mouth bass in Rhode Island, there isn’t an inch of New England water our membership hasn’t fished. We’re the New England Fly Tyers!

NEFT is one of the most active clubs of its kind. Members meet every Monday night, beginning in early September through late May, for a total of 36 meetings across 9 months.

While most of our meetings are Open Tying nights where members can gather to tie flies together, we offer a range of programs throughout the year, including:

Fly Tying Course
Rod Building Course
Youth Outreach Program

We also host a wide range of events, such as potlucks/club dinners, guest speakers/tyers, river stockings, and an annual trip to the Deerfield River in Western Mass.
